CHARLOTTE, NC (April 25, 2006) — A-Metrics, LLC has retained SELMARQ, Brands' Best Friend®, to develop a marketing program for their new atomic-level measuring device. The Ultra-Precision Displacement Sensor from A-Metrics has been verified by scientists at the UK's National Physical Laboratory (NPL) to be accurate at an unprecedented level.
"This is a highly technical instrument with applications in a wide range of industries," noted Ludwik Zon, A-Metrics General Manager and President. "We were concerned not only with protecting the proprietary nature of the technology, but also with finding a marketing firm experienced in industrial branding. SELMARQ came highly recommended by our associates."
The hot, new science of nanotechnology works with matter on a scale of 1 to 100 billionths of a meter. The term nanometer is derived from the Greek prefix "nano-" which means one billionth. Manufacturing new materials and products at this level makes precision enormously important. The A-Metrics device measures at the next smaller, Angstrom level Ð one-tenth of a nanometer. The thickness of a typical human hair is 750,000 Angstroms.
Scientists formerly with the European aerospace industry developed the product. The impact of this technology on a wide range of market sectors promises to be astounding, with a potential scope to rival any technological breakthrough of the past century.
"The scope of applications for this technology goes way beyond scientific instrumentation – it could eventually impact everyday consumer products," said Jeff Rothe, SELMARQ President. "But like most new technologies, it will likely be first applied to the defense and high-tech industries. The A-Metrics management team has a clear vision for what this platform technology can do. They are also keenly aware that good branding and marketing adds significant value to the company."
